Hi Guys,

do you have any experiences with the new Inflatable Hoverboard from Naish?

Thanks!

It looks good, eh? Wolle.  I saw their 170ltr priced in the UK for 900 euros/U$1100.   They do not give it much exposure in their recent release. (I suspect it stands off in a corner compared to their hardboards.). You get about 15sec.  2:07 thru 2:22 in the following.

No disrespect to Gunnar, but I figure the title fight may be between Naish and GONG.  There has been amazingly little exposure for the F-1 Rocket.  Perhaps the market is not really there for inflatables..?

Maybe it is like cars or aircraft - the first adopters have the money to buy anything they want so, in this case, inflatos look downmarket compared to Carbon.  And, foiling may never come to the masses. (they're forgiven if they are scared for their lives, and do not have jobs or healthcare)

For me inflatable is ok
  • put it in a small car
  • put it away in winter (exchange with snow shovels)
  • Rocks don't matter - river or beach

That may change as I get better and can handle smaller boards. But at the moment I am happy, also soft on the knees for starting.
On the negativ side it does add time to getting ready, but at least you are already warmed up :)

Before I bought mine (6.0 Indiana) I also searched for info about the boards already available, which were F-one and Manta. Found one experience with the F-one which was not so good (too much flex - but I think that was a version before the rocket). Manta seems OK, at least the small board. My board is very solid but as it is my first foilboard I don't have anything to compare it with. I am a beginner and quite often the only wing on the lake so I don't have to compete with others to have the coolest/lightes gear, and even if I would not care.

New releases will be the Naish and Gong Board. Gong uses a carbon plate to make it stiffer. The Naish looks like they built something inside, maybe like Indiana. My board has a big block inside where the foil is mounted, you see the same in the video when they unpack the board. But according to Gunnar (other Forum) it takes some additional engineering to make an inflatable stiff enough for foiling.

Thanks for your replys

I'm thinking about a inflatable because I have already to much SUP hardboards to transport for a weekend trip or a holyday.

I need my raceboard, my waveboard and my wife needs her board ::)

I don't know how to manage, may be a inflatable could be the solution. I think next season there will be smaller sizes from naish. I think I wait for it and in the meantime let's see what other brands do!

cheers

Strictly my impression.  ...having watched Naish, starting with kites from about 2002-16, Robbie does a quick cover on a market segment so his dealers have a full quiver.  I do not find the General Motors approach where the designer is relegated to the shadows attractive.  With Indiana and GONG, you well know the origin of the DNA.

It will be interesting to see a production model, but the Hoverboard in the photos looks pretty featureless compared to the others.  Maybe it is a lot less expensive?
