Title: Re: Puncture - repair tips?
Post by: knatti on May 11, 2020, 08:15:29 am
Just to (hopefully) finish this topic

I had 2 more punctures just next to the others, around the middle. I tried to look for anything inside through the valve hole, but could not find anything. So if there was something inside I tried to shake it out towards the wingtips. I also checked the leash but could not find anything.

The hole in the canopy was repaired with spinnaker tape on both sides.

Thanks for the video, I found some others, and it is more or less like repairing a kite, just you have to find some string instead of the kite lines.

I also found a small rip in the canopy (about 1cm long). Should I use the supplied sticker in the repair kit or do you use other brands? Recommendations?

I did one myself and found this helpful:

String around the bladder crucial as well as not twisting upon reinstall.   I would add inspect to see what may have caused the leak, as in make sure there is nothing sharp that will re-puncture.

I'm a newbie with kites so my input could be nonsense.

Today at the lake i noticed that the wing was loosing pressure and found bubbles near the area where the leash is connected.

I read the duotone manual, in short:

Is it rather straight forward?
Any mistakes beginners always do?

Thanks
