Title: After 790, do I go to 679?
Post by: Mike dubs on September 03, 2020, 05:00:16 pm
So I’m riding and preferring my 790 to my 1100 as most of my spots are choppy and I can get the 790 going in nearly as light a wind as the 1100.

When I’m really powered on my 4.5/3.5m I now feel like I need less foil. So do I go to a 679 or is there something else?

Cheers

Mike

Some people are using the W1000 and W800 for winging and seem to love them.  There is also the Moses 633 (Slingshot Apollo), which wind foilers seem to like.  From what I've heard the 633 has good lift and is faster than the 790 and more maneuverable.

I'm not sure what masts or fuselages would work with the W1000 and W800, outside of the race ones.

The 633 is the "magic wing" for many kitefoilers (myself included) I'm glad to know that it works well with a wing.   Right now, still in early days of learning on 1100/450 combo.

Here's a review comparing the Moses W1000 and the F-One Phantom 1480 foils.

Both look like they are good options for winging.  (The same reviewer loved the Moses 633 for kiting but not so much for winging.)
