Woohoo, finally got a wing!

It's a Konrad V1 6SqM and I have an inflation question. I see the wing has a maximum pressure of 8psi but I'm unsure of what to do with the joiner tube between the leading edge and the boom?

Are you supposed to close it just for the safety so if there's a leak in one the other doesn't deflate or does it have another function to do with uneven pressure in each section?

Sorry if it's a newbie question, trust me it's the first of many
