Gunnar -

Super useful tech topic, especially for all of us engineers.  I've never really played around with mixing and matching but now have a basic understanding to see the difference of switching out 483 vs 450 vs 330 for both winging and kiting.

would love a few comments on stabiliser size vs wind strength.
Would you use a bigger stabiliser in light wind i.e. slower speeds...

In general, yes, you would pair a bigger tail wing with a big front wing for light wind. Again in general, the smaller your front wing the smaller your rear wing should be...BUT people are trying all sorts of mix and match combo's to get the best feel for them - what's right for one isn't right for all.
You can considerably alter the characteristics of a front wing by changing the rear wing. A smaller rear wing will (generally) make a big front wing looser (more maneuverable), a bit faster, but usually a bit less stable.
Big tail wings make it easier to pump - at least in terms of the amount of effort you have to put in.
Big tails are (generally) harder to turn fast, but again this is not always the case. The HA tails (wide, narrow and flat) can pivot on a dime if you do it right.
A big tail paired with a big front wing will be easier to fly in light wing as there will be more lift...BUT, if you can get going on a smaller front & tail wing combo, the lack of drag, faster speed and greater maneuverability will be more fun.

I have the Axis 420 rear wing and the 1010 front i plan to wing with that combo
Short fuselage 68cm
What do you think of that set up?
Once I experienced HA i couldn’t go back.  I foil surf too.

Caveat: I Kiteboarded for 20 years (began in 1998 and quit a few years ago) but still have yet to get up on the wing on the ocean here in maine. When the wind picks up to 15-20 mph the Atlantic becomes very rough. And i think its not a great idea to try and learn under those conditions. Right? Or am I being a ****?
I have the slingwing V2 in 5.4 and 6.4 which in my opinion are amazing.  Thanks guys.
