INDIANA inflatable Foilboards sizes?
« on: May 02, 2020, 10:59:20 pm »
Hi Gunnar or everybody else here.
planning to buy one of those two available sizes.

Here you find them: https://shop.indiana-paddlesurf.com/foil/inflatable-foil.html

The 6.0 seems quite big to me with 144 liters the 6.4 is even bigger with 159 liters. Somebody told me that you cannot judge inflatable boards from its volume as they need more of it for being stiff enough. The outline/dimensions are more important but then the 6.0 seems small to me as a heavy beginner.

I weigh 110kg
I plan to take this board for learning at first and later for traveling by plane. I will buy a hardboard as soon as I have some skills and can estimate which size will suit me best.
I will need some volume in the beginning due to my higher weight but later I think can go down to maybe 100-110 liters as my Go-to size.

As you have some expirience with them and even developped them with Indiana I am sure you can help me with my decision.
I only wonder that even you took the big one for your sessions and you weigh much less than me.

please and thanks....

Hi Gonzo.

At your weight definitely get the 6'4" 157 L Board.  The weight difference between the 6'4" and the 6' is not that much, and it will make things a lot easier in the beginning and also in lighert wind.

The 6' is also relatively narrow.

Hi Gunnar, seems the board is now available again. (6ī4")
It also seems to me that the "new" ones are slightly different.
A friend of mine has one already. Got it in April. Right after the delivery they were "sold out".
On my friendīs board it says "15psi" in your latest Indiana video you say that it should be pumped up to 19psi - so this seems to be new....?
Also in the video the fiber stringer is visible in the nose of the board. My friendīs board does not have this feature. At lewast it is not visible at first sight.
Has there been a some small revision? If so, how do I reckognize what version it is if I order one?

thanks again...

As far as I know there has been no revision for the current Inflatable boards.  Also there are no stringers in any of the boards.  They are compression belts that run on the bottom and deck of the board.

Hi Gonzo
Just wondering... did you get your inflatable board in the end? And if so, what size? Any feedback on it?

Ron
